The roundabout will be constructed at the intersection with Telopea Avenue.

There are existing roundabouts at the Burraneer Bay Road and Caringbah Road intersections.

A staff report said representations were made by a member of the public concerning the frequency of crashes, some resulting in injuries, at the Telopea Avenue intersection.

"A roundabout was previously considered in 2020 as part of a development condition for the childcare centre at 482 Port Hacking Road, but this was not proceeded with at the time," the report said.

"Since then, there has been an increase in the number of injury crashes at this intersection.

"While the site did not meet the requirements for the Federal Blackspot program, Council's investigation found that the installation of a roundabout at this location has clear safety merit."

The report said, in the five-year period from 2020 to 2024, two crashes resulting in injury occurred at this location.
