It’s not going to happen. It was never going to happen. Of course, it absolutely didn’t happen at that awkward availability on Tuesday.
There are several reasons for this, starting with Giants management wanting to make sure it’s not accused of intruding on the sketchy Department of Justice investigation into MLB’s handling of the Pride Night controversy, when four Giants pitchers went out of their way to show that they were not onboard with the event’s message of inclusion.
That’s actually not a terrible reason for Posey to point to the team’s initial prepared statement on the matter and declare that he’d only be taking baseball questions on Tuesday.
