Hello
We have a newly installed 8.4.10-10 mysql database running on Rocky Linux 8.10.
Trying to configure it as the replica for a 8.0.37-29 mysql database.
The error upon checking is
Last_Error: Relay log read failure: Could not parse relay log event entry. The possible reasons are: the source's binary log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the binary log), the replica's relay log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the relay log), a network problem, the server was unable to fetch a keyring key required to open an encrypted relay log file, or a bug in the source's or replica's MySQL code. If you want to check the source's binary log or replica's relay log, you will be able to know their names by issuing 'SHOW REPLICA STATUS' on this replica.
We thought this might have been an OS issue as we first attempted this on Ubuntu. But now having movied to Rocky we are getting the exact same error.
Has anyone seen this before? From what I understand this is supported (8.0 to 8.4) but for life of me I cant get past this error!
Thanks.
