Bravo’s messy ‘Summer House’ reunion brought together Ciara Miller, Amanda Batula, West Wilson
Doha Madani · 2026-05-27 · via NBC News Top Stories

Warning: This story includes spoilers for part one of the “Summer House” Season 10 reunion.

“I think you need to check your phone.”

That’s the first thing “Summer House” star Kyle Cooke says to fellow cast member Lindsay Hubbard during part one of the show’s Season 10 reunion, interrupting Hubbard’s confessional interview just seconds into the episode.

Both their phones start buzzing as Hubbard reads a statement confirming that Cooke’s estranged wife, Amanda Batula, and castmate West Wilson are together after weeks of public denials. Multiple cast members begin to call, prompting Cooke and Hubbard to combine their phones into one giant debrief.

“Has anyone checked on Ciara?” cast member Carl Radke asks over speakerphone.

The chaotic opening perfectly captures why fans love the Bravo hit: Its cast is a real, messy, intertwined friend group that’s steeped in drama. And they aren’t afraid to air it all out.

On Tuesday, hours before the show’s reunion was broadcast on TV, more than 500 fans packed an AMC in New York City for a special screening, reacting with cheers and jeers as cast members confronted the fallout involving Batula, Wilson, Cooke and Ciara Miller.

“Nothing brings a community together more than the demise and infidelity of a relationship,” said Kiersyn Cocke, who was among the hundreds of fans waiting in a line that stretched down a Manhattan avenue ahead of the screening.

The event, complete with themed cocktails (such as the “Summerita Hose” and “Bravoholics”), snacks and cozy leather recliners, underscored how the off-camera relationship drama has expanded the show’s appeal beyond loyal Bravo viewers.

For years, “Summer House” has occupied a unique space in the Bravo universe — serving as an upscale “Jersey Shore” that follows young New Yorkers partying in the Hamptons. The show’s storylines have largely revolved around drunken fights, messy breakups, hookups and cheating allegations while occasionally weaving in more serious conversations about race, mental health and fractured childhoods. (NBCUniversal is the parent company of Bravo, Peacock and NBC News.)

But the latest season, which debuted in February and chronicled the cast’s dramatic summer of 2025, exploded into a broader pop culture moment as fans began to re-examine Batula and Wilson’s on-screen interactions amid the colossal off-camera revelation.

Throughout the 16-episode season, viewers witnessed the unraveling of Batula and Cooke’s turbulent marriage, which had long been one of the show’s emotional anchors. At the same time, Wilson, a goofy sports journalist who was introduced in Season 8, rekindled a friendship with Miller, an ICU nurse and model and Batula’s close friend. Their renewed bond initially seemed like a fresh start after their failed romance drove major drama in recent seasons.

But Wilson and Batula’s relationship evolved offscreen after the summer ended. In March, he described her as just “a very important person to me” when he appeared on Bravo host Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” show. A week later, the two confirmed their relationship in a joint Instagram statement, saying that it grew from a “genuine, long-standing friendship” and that they never meant to “purposely hide anything.”

During the reunion, Batula said she was ready to take accountability for her actions, acknowledged that she had lied to those around her and said she felt she had handled the situation as best as she could at the time.

While Batula seemed adamant to defend herself throughout the episode — resulting in multiple clashes with cast members — Wilson mostly remained silent as he sat beside her on one of the two couches set up onstage.

The backlash following confirmation of the relationship was immediate, with fans quickly comparing the situation with “Scandoval,” the “Vanderpump Rules” cheating scandal that consumed the internet three years previously.

While the circumstances differ, both scandals fueled already rabid fan bases with deep parasocial investments in the casts. TikTok creators and Reddit users spent weeks dissecting leaked clips and seating charts from the “Summer House” reunion taping for clues about shifting alliances.

Bravoholics who attended Tuesday’s screening at AMC said they were excited to watch the reunion in a room filled with equally passionate fans.

Cocke, 26, attended the screening with her friends Tessa Millhollin and Steph Castro, who are members of a group chat called “The Real Boatwives of Brooklyn” (a play on Bravo’s other popular franchise, “The Real Housewives”).

Part of what draws the three women to “Summer House” is the genuine relationships the cast seems to have, which can be rare in the world of reality television.

“I think all of us have really great female friendships in our lives, that I can’t imagine that happening,” said Castro, who was first to share the scandalous news in the group chat. “It feels so removed from where we are as friends.”

Though Batula and Wilson’s relationship status was a major focus of the first hour of the reunion series, host Cohen made sure to highlight the summer antics at large, as well as other cast members’ struggles and disagreements.

Mia Calabrese opened up about the grief she carries for her late mother, Bailey Taylor confronted cast member Ben Waddell’s repeated reprimanding of women, and KJ Dillard, who was new to the season, revealed a devastating personal battle.

Dillard shared that he was diagnosed with BPD, or borderline personality disorder, last fall after he was hospitalized for self-harm. He said that during his hospital stay, Calabrese and Miller visited him almost daily.

The next parts of the Bravo reunion are set to be released the next two Tuesday nights, with Peacock streaming “extended and uncensored” versions the following day. The trailer teased screaming matches, tears, accusations of betrayal and clear dissolutions of multiple relationships — both romantic and platonic.

Cohen, who has hosted hundreds of reality TV reunions, previously described the “Summer House” taping as “one of the most intense reunions” he has recorded.

With more to come, fans at Tuesday’s screening said they were already bracing for the emotional reactions from other cast members — including Radke, whose turmoil has become something of a meme amid the postseason drama.

“I am worried about Carl,” said Pablo Alavado, 26, who attended the AMC event with his partner, Sarah Howard. “He is a mess.”
