Where music reigns
Palais is a new night-time venue in Peckham, set within the former Jones & Higgins department store on Rye Lane. Reopening a long-closed landmark, it returns as a space for music, culture and community in South London, rooted in Peckham and open to the world. At a time when independent nightlife is under increasing pressure, with closures reshaping the city’s cultural landscape, Palais represents a passion project for Night Group, the team behind Night Tales, NT’s Loft and Netil360, with a focus on sound, programming and community.
Our approach was built around a simple idea: where music reigns. A palace for Peckham, where music unites. The identity needed to reflect the scale and presence of the building, while feeling grounded in the local scene and open to new voices. Designed to live across print, digital and the built environment, the identity creates a cohesive visual language that feels embedded within the space. The identity carries a distinct personality, while remaining flexible enough to evolve alongside its diverse programme. As Palais takes hold, the ambition is for the brand to become synonymous with new music culture in Peckham, shaped by sound, people and place, and defined through real experience over time.
