At the "Gundam SPRING 2026" presentation aired today, multiple announcements related to "Mobile Suit Gundam" were made.

First, "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO" will be released in theaters. This work is a prequel to the 2024 theatrical anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," which achieved great success. Although the distribution method had not been disclosed until now, it has been confirmed that it will be released as a theatrical film.

Next, the Japan Anniversary Association has officially recognized April 7 as "Gundam Day." April 7 is the day when the 1979 TV anime "Mobile Suit Gundam" first aired, and it will be officially designated as a commemorative day by the Japan Anniversary Association.

A new video for "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" is also in production. "GUNDAM-Con" will be held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Gundam series. "GUNDAM-Con" will take place in January 2027 at Halls 10 and 11 of the Makuhari Messe.
