Please lead with either SEEKING WORK or SEEKING FREELANCER, your location, and whether remote work is a possibility.

Please only post if you are looking to hire a freelancer or work as one. Small (2-5 person) agencies are fine, but recruiters, job boards, and so on, are off topic here.

SEEKING WORK | Toronto, ON | Hybrid Toronto OR Remote (Canada / US preferred)

Android Engineer, 5+ years shipping production Kotlin. Native Android - no React Native, no Flutter, no cross-platform shortcuts. I've been sole developer on apps with 10M+ Play Store downloads, and have worked on a national digital identity platform used by virtually an entire country. Currently building a full-stack video game price comparison platform solo which involves a Ktor backend, PostgreSQL, data pipelines, and daily live users.

Architecture, elegant and intuitive solutions is what I care about most. Codebases which are tested, modular, and built to last.

Besides Android, I also have experience building backends with Ktor as well cross platform development with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).

Stack: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines, RxKotlin/Java, Flow, Hilt (Dagger2), Retrofit, Room, Ktor, Koin, Junit, MockK, PostgreSQL, Firebase, Git, Codex AI.

Looking for: Full-time permanent or contract. Remote preferred. Full resume and other details available upon request.

Contact: jobs.landslide859@passinbox.com (this is an alias)

SEEKING FREELANCER | Remote (US+EU only)

Stack: Vue3, Ruby+Sinatra, Postgres, Railway, Cloudflare

We've built a new platform in the electronic music space, currently in limited beta, and we are seeking freelancers who love electronic music to help us with design, UI/UX, and infrastructure (major bonus points if you're an artist or promoter, or you travel extensively with music as a primary focus).

1) We want to scale our infrastructure up to 500 RPS while minimizing costs when it isn't in a burst period, validate that with load-testing, and set up monitoring, alerts, and auto-recovery mechanisms where possible.

2) We'd like a complete design and UI/UX refresh. This can be an individual who holds both sets of skills or two distinct people.

Please email ${this_username}@gmail.com if this sounds like a fit; every application will receive a response.

I’m Mark, a Dutch product designer working from strategy to shipped code. Always have, it’s what got me hooked on design over a decade ago. Since, I’ve worn many hats working in startups and for myself.

I love collaborating with founders and small teams. By working across design, engineering, and product, I help them build simple, effective, and reliable software.

I’m ideally looking for a company where I get to go beyond making pictures of interfaces. A place where I get to work end-to-end from ideas to visuals to the finished product.

SEEKING WORK | Remote (Europe/Lisbon, with US/Asia overlap for syncs) - Freelance/Contractor

Senior Systems Architect and Technical Lead with 20+ years of experience. Current role involves managing teams and high-level architecture for international clients. While enjoyable, it leaves less time to write code or set up servers—the hands-on work I've always loved. Looking for freelance projects (~5 hours/day + weekends) to stay sharp and build interesting things.

Availability: Highly flexible. Easily adjust my schedule to align with US or Asia timezones for meetings and syncs as needed.

Backend & Data: Python, PHP, advanced SQL (MySQL/MariaDB), HTTP/REST APIs, complex web scraping architectures. Infra & Virtualization: Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) kernel tuning, KVM, OpenVZ, high-availability clusters, AWS/GCP/Hetzner, Docker. Networking & Security: Nginx (caching & load balancing), Cloudflare, OpenVPN, BIND server administration, strict DNS security (DMARC/DKIM/SPF), firewall tuning.

Work Ethic: Detail-focused with zero tolerance for unhandled bugs and noisy error logs. Fast communication, proactive updates, and strict adherence to deadlines are standard.

Due to strict NDAs with current company/clients, public profiles are kept scrubbed. More than happy to complete a small paid test task or a time-boxed pilot project to demonstrate code quality and architectural thinking.

Treating your business as my own means delivering more than just ticket execution.

Focus is always on Cost Optimization: Identifying and eliminating cloud infrastructure waste. Revenue Growth: Structuring robust technical architectures that directly support business scaling. Proactive Prototyping: Suggesting and building architectural improvements instead of just waiting for instructions.

SEEKING WORK - Contract, Remote, USA, backend engineer

I am a backend expert, having built and maintained mission critical, low latency and highly available systems for many companies over the last 10 years, in addition to over 20 total years of software development experience. I learn new things extremely quickly. AWS preferred but not required (I hold a variety of certs, available here: https://www.credly.com/users/jon-north.ad78f0c8)

You will like working with me because I:

  * hold your goals as my priorities
  * communicate verbosely yet synthesize well
  * my rates are reasonable in exchange for the value I deliver
  * I guarantee I will get the job done

Concrete examples:

* built the primary streaming data architecture for realtime game player tracking information (all games, 50ms SLA) and game stats for one of the top 3 US sports leagues (can’t name drop!) using Redpanda/Kafka on Azure+Terraform, and implemented its developer portal using Gravitee to provide first class streaming API support and monetization. Also built, deployed and maintained their ask-a-question-get-a-true-answer AI bot to expose 20+ years of stats to natural language fan questions! (this was the third of currently four times I’ve built similar architectures for different companies)

* Implemented a vector DB for one of the leading AI image hallucination platforms (millions of users) to provide an image similarity service.

* replatformed dozens of complex quant jobs to AWS Lambda for a startup hedge fund (~$1B AUM), vastly improving QoS and maintenance cost. Line 1 to platform-in-prod time 3 months, including refactoring for fit. This was mission critical cannot-fail stuff and required extensive proof of correctness.

* built a framework to collapse dozens of singleton ETL programs into one config-driven, simple C# application performing the same functionality at ~80% reduction in maintenance cost year over year.

Hi. I'm Craig. I'm an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Systems Architect and Microsoft Certified Professional with a passion for software development.

I work primarily, but not exclusively, with Microsoft technologies and the .NET / .NET Core frameworks, leading complex and challenging enterprise software development projects to successfully deliver robust, secure, scalable and efficient software solutions, encompassing over 30 years of experience in the field.

I'm passionate about distributed systems design, CQRS and event sourcing and a proponent of domain-driven design to ensure that solutions are laser-focused on solving real business problems. I'm an open source enthusiast and advocate using the best and most appropriate tools available, providing for an effective and pragmatic solution that delivers genuine and quantifiable business value.

Throughout my career I've helped numerous businesses of varying sizes in varying industries get their technology investment right and I can do the same for you.

Recent projects include:

+ Architected and executed a comprehensive overhaul of a core legacy system, migrating it to a robust microservices architecture. By strategically applying Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, and Event Sourcing, we enabled a prominent African FinTech company to seamlessly scale from 1 million to 10 million active users while achieving a remarkable 30%+ reduction in cloud expenses.

+ Successfully delivered an ambitious project to re-engineer a number of monolithic applications to cloud-native, event-driven distributed services for a leading hospitality software provider as part of a company-wide effort to modernise their entire software estate including training and mentoring staff on event-driven architecture and distributed system design.

+ Designed & delivered a large, global SaaS product to manage and automate music royalty collection and payment for one of the UK's largest and most demanding independent music publishers including full cloud geo-distribution & redundancy to ensure high availability & reliability for the worldwide client base.

+ Spearheaded the creation of a groundbreaking anti-motor fraud solution for a prominent UK law firm. This industry-leading platform combined a user-friendly web application, powerful API, and sophisticated data systems, including Europe's largest anti-fraud database, giving the firm an edge in fraud detection.

- Python CSV/Excel cleanup and reporting automation - Excel workbooks with formulas, validation, dashboards, and clear handoff notes - WordPress Gutenberg templates, responsive fixes, and HTML-to-editable-page conversions - Small HTML/CSS/JavaScript fixes and tested maintenance scripts

I prefer a small paid pilot with explicit acceptance criteria. Typical starter scope is USD 50-225 depending on the task. Deliverables include source files, a concise README, test evidence, and no proprietary lock-in.

I’m a senior generalist engineer with founding-style ownership. I like building systems end-to-end: protocol and product code, backend platforms, infrastructure, internal tools, and product-facing surfaces. Several times I was either an initial or an early hire in small and large-scale projects and products.

For the last two years, I was a founding engineer at Load Network, an early-stage L1 EVM chain with Arweave-based data settlement. I worked across the stack: developed protocol-level abstractions, consensus and execution clients, bootstrapped infrastructure, DevOps, and smart-contract prototypes. I also built private AI agent harnesses, ran multi-agent tests, and used LLMs for spec review and cross-client protocol design research and data gathering.

Before that, I spent six years in gamedev building backend platforms for massive-scale games at Strikerz/UFL (uflgame.com) and Vizor Games. I was an early hire, working directly with the CTO to build the infrastructure and design the system from the ground up. I engineered microservices for matchmaking, game economy/payments, quests, auth, moderation, and data pipelines (Kafka, Postgres, ClickHouse). I also managed Kubernetes, observability, internal admin tooling in Python/JS, and took part in high-stakes production launches.

I built my engineering foundation in enterprise Business Intelligence and Data Architecture. I shipped large-scale data warehouses (OLAP) for global companies (pharma, logistics), writing heavily optimized Oracle PL/SQL and T-SQL.

Open source: Merged contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem, including the Reth client in Rust, Flashbots SUAVE, and Alloy.

These days, I'm spending more time on product-facing surfaces (React, Rails), exploring Zig, and using LLMs for the right dose of entropy and speed.

Looking for: founding engineer, senior/staff software engineer, full-stack or backend roles where broad ownership and technical depth matter.
