As Events Producer, you will design and deliver exceptional alumni, donor and stakeholder events across the UK and internationally, helping to strengthen relationships with Cambridge's supporters and showcase the University's world-changing research, ideas and impact.
This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, pace and purpose. You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of events, from intimate donor engagement moments to major institutional occasions, working with senior leaders, academics, distinguished alumni, major donors, international partners and VIP guests.
No two events will be the same. One week you may be shaping a bespoke stewardship experience for a major supporter; the next, coordinating a high-profile University occasion or supporting alumni engagement in locations such as Europe and Asia.
You will join a friendly, ambitious and collaborative Development and Alumni Relations team, delivering work that has real impact for Cambridge and its global community.
What the Role Involves
This is a hands-on producer role with strategic visibility. You will:
Lead the planning and delivery of high-quality alumni, donor and stakeholder events
Create memorable, audience-focused experiences that support engagement and fundraising goals
Coordinate complex event logistics, timelines, suppliers, budgets and risk planning
Work closely with senior colleagues, academics, communications teams and external partners
Prepare briefings and support senior leaders, VIPs, donors and distinguished guests
Represent the University with confidence, discretion and professionalism at high-profile events
Evaluate event impact and use insight to improve future engagement
The role spans flagship recognition events, donor stewardship, international alumni engagement, senior leadership activity and reputation-defining institutional occasions.
Why This Role Matters
Cambridge's events programme is central to how the University builds lifelong relationships with alumni, donors and friends around the world.
These events do more than run smoothly on the day. They inspire support, deepen connections, tell powerful stories and help people see the impact of Cambridge's work first-hand.
As Events Producer, you will play a key part in making those moments happen.
Who We're Looking For

Strong communication, briefing and relationship-building skills
Experience managing suppliers, budgets and competing priorities
A creative, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail
Experience in fundraising, advancement, PR, marketing, higher education or a comparable charity environment would be valuable, but what matters most is your ability to deliver exceptional experiences with professionalism, confidence and care.
What Success Looks Like

Guests, donors, alumni and senior stakeholders feel well supported
Complex logistics, risks and dependencies are managed smoothly
Event experiences strengthen engagement, stewardship and reputation
