Think you have what it takes to be a CTP or CTA? Apply today!

The Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) and Citrix Technology Advocate (CTA) Programs consist of our elite technical champions within the ecosystem who openly contribute content, provide product feedback, and evangelize Citrix technologies. These are annual awards designed to reward members with exclusive benefits and opportunities while fostering an environment that also helps us produce the best possible products and technical community.

Applications are now open for both CTP and CTA Programs through December 31, 2024. Apply today to one (or both) programs, though you can only join one per calendar year! Candidates are selected based on their alignment to the charters of these respective programs and criteria including technical contributions, advocacy, selfless sharing, and a peer review process. New award recipients for both programs are targeted for announcement in March 2025.

Let’s take a look at each program in greater detail…

Citrix Technology Professional (CTP)

Per the mission statement on the CTP home page:

The Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) Program is an annual award in recognition of the significant technical contributions by individuals throughout the year in Citrix products and solutions. The wealth of knowledge they have developed and openly shared has proven invaluable to the Citrix technology community.

CTPs contribute in a variety of ways – from writing technical articles and blogs to presenting on webinars and providing insightful feedback to Product Management. Members have various backgrounds including consultants, architects, administrators, and network engineers. They consist of both partners and customers. Virtually any non-Citrix employee is welcome to apply. We encourage you to read the bios of current CTPs on our awardees page.

CTAs help spread the word about Citrix technologies and how they solve real-world business challenges. Many have a strong presence on social media and within local/regional tech circles. Similar to CTPs, these members come from varied backgrounds including consultants, architects, administrators, or network engineers. CTAs can have roles as partners, customers, or even Citrix employees who go above and beyond to evangelize. Take a moment to read the bios of current CTAs on our awardees page.

What’s the difference between CTPs and CTAs?

This is a question I often hear from folks as at first glance the focus and benefits in both programs might look similar – and indeed they are similar but have some notable differences. Here is a brief summary of those differences:

  • The CTP Program is Citrix’s “top tier” program for individuals who produce and share Citrix technical content. The CTA Program is focused more on the technical evangelism of existing content.
  • CTPs typically develop original technical content for the Citrix ecosystem and/or provide impactful product feedback to our PM Teams. CTAs may do some of these things but are focused more on the sharing of technical content.
  • CTPs have in-person meeting opportunities while CTAs do not.
  • CTPs have “FastTrack” technical support privilege and mostly work directly with our Escalation Teams. CTAs do not have this benefit.
  • The CTP Program has more interactions within Citrix, including calls with PMs, compared to the CTA Program (some calls are joint CTP/CTA calls).

Ready to apply?

Now that you know a little more about the CTP and CTA Programs, it’s time to apply! Whether you’re applying for the first time to one of these programs, have applied in the past, or are a CTA looking to make the next step to a CTP, I encourage you to submit your application today. Thanks for reading and being a part of the Citrix ecosystem!
