When is new Siri coming to the iPhone 17?

One of the biggest developments coming to the iPhone and other Apple products is the all-new version of Siri. And a new report has explained why there’s good reason to think it won’t arrive until iOS 27, due later this year.

This is not entirely a surprise, as many had predicted iOS 27 would be the earliest release of the advanced version of Siri, though many others were still looking keenly at each iOS 26 version to see if there were hints of it coming sooner.
As you’ll know, an advanced version of Siri was announced in June 2024, only to be withdrawn later. Apple’s latest confirmation for new Siri, with its game-changing use of Apple Intelligence, is that it will arrive some time in 2026.
It’s not yet clear which release of iOS 27 will show off the new Siri, though that will become clearer in June when the first developer beta is expected to be released.
The general release of iOS 27 will be in September, just before the next hardware such as the iPhone 18 Pro.
My guess is that the new Siri will land in an early iOS 27 update, but possibly not the very first one — Apple may want to bed the new software in before its headline feature launches.
