Beyerdynamic’s New DT 30 IE IEMs Are Designed For Live Performances

Guitarist with beyerdynamic DT 30 IE

The new beyerdynamic DT 30 IE are entry-level in-ear monitors with a neutral sound for a wide range of instruments.

Whether it’s loud rehearsal rooms, inconsistent venue monitoring or sweat-soaked live sets, the new entry into beyerdynamic’s in-ear monitor range is designed to help musicians stay locked into their performance.

Audio brand beyerdynamic has launched a brand-new pair of in-ear monitors designed for musicians, content creators and studio professionals. The new DT 30 IE are professional IEMs for touring musicians who perform live.

Designed in Germany and constructed for on-stage environments, the new DT 30 IE IEMs have a balanced monitoring sound with passive noise isolation and a durable build quality to stand up to the punishment of life on the road.

Professional Sound

While many in-ear monitors have a mid-focused sound tuning that can compromise an accurate monitor mix, the new beyerdynamic DT 30 IE use a different approach. These IEMs are designed for real monitoring rather than casual listening. Thanks to an 11mm dynamic driver, the sound is balanced and neutral across the 5Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency response.

The sound profile offers musicians a reliable reference so they can make confident decisions on stage. Whether they are used for monitoring vocals, guitars, click tracks or backing tracks, the DT 30 IE are designed to help performers lock into the mix.

For many musicians, the DT 30 IE might be their first experience of using a professional monitoring system. These IEMs are designed to support the transition from floor wedges to in-ear monitoring setups. They sit alongside beyerdynamic’s reference-class DT 70 IE Series, which was introduced at NAMM 2025 and were beyerdynamic’s first foray into the IEM space.

Each DT 30 IE earpiece weighs 2.7g and has a significantly slimmer profile than multi-driver IEM designs.

BEYERDYNAMIC

All-Round Tuning

Where the DT 70 IE IEMs have instrument-specific sound tuning, the DT 30 IE are engineered to be a versatile all-rounder, for use by musicians who need reliable, balanced monitoring for use with any instrument in any stage situation.

“Besides the microphones, I regularly use the beyerdynamic in-ear monitors both in the studio and for live gigs,” says drummer and content creator Carl-Johan Hökdal. “Especially as a drummer, having reliable monitoring and great isolation on stage makes a huge difference for me. I have never felt more comfortable with my in-ear mix as I do now.”

Loud drummers, noisy stages and inconsistent venue sound can spoil a performance. However, with up to 39dB of passive isolation, the beyerdynamic DT 30 IE can help performers focus on their mix instead of fighting against stage noise. The IEMs are compact and ergonomic with a shape based on hundreds of ear scans, providing a secure hold to stay in place during physically demanding performances.

Slimline And Lightweight

Each earpiece weighs 2.7g and has a significantly slimmer profile than multi-driver IEM designs. The shape of the earpieces is designed to be comfortable to wear during lengthy rehearsals and sets. The DT 30 IE IEMs come with three pairs of silicone ear tips in small, medium and large sizes. Also included are three pairs of foam ear tips in three sizes, enabling users to get the correct fit.

When touring, kit often takes a lot of punishment, such as sweat-soaked sets and midnight loadouts. With IP54-rated protection against dust and water splashes, the DT 30 IE are made to withstand a range of conditions.

A Kevlar-reinforced detachable cable reduces handling noise and can be replaced with other cables using the standard MMCX connector system. The connectors are gold-plated and include an integrated memory wire to keep the IEMs in place. Replacement spare parts are available to ensure a long service life.

“Too many musicians start with consumer-tuned in-ear monitors that aren’t actually designed for live performance,” says Kevin Nietsch, product manager of beyerdynamic’s PRO Audio range. “With the DT 30 IE, we wanted to create a serious professional monitoring tool musicians can rely on from their very first gig.”

Pricing and Availability:

The beyerdynamic DT 30 IE are available now and priced at $159.99 from beyerdynamic.com and authorized retailers.
