Headphone and earbud brand Sennheiser has announced the launch of the Accentum Clip, a new pair of open-ear true wireless earbuds designed for sports and outdoor activities. Offering natural ambient awareness but with a significant bass response and modern wireless capabilities, the new earbuds are designed for all-day wearing and comfort.

“In creating Accentum Clip, we wanted to elevate the standard of acoustic performance that open earbuds have traditionally struggled with,” says Friederike Menking, Accentum Clip product manager. “Whether you are tackling productivity, out on your own adventures, or managing the transitions in between, its thoughtful design empowers you to navigate your world without sacrificing the essence of your music.”

Situational Awareness

In a world of hybrid employment, the lines between work and play are constantly being blurred. You could be streaming the latest album while waiting for a train or need to hop on a conference call at a local café. These kinds of multitasking situations throughout the working day often require situational awareness as well as high-quality sound.

These open-style Accentum Clip earbuds from Sennheiser sit just outside the ear canal so the user is always aware of their situation.

SENNHEISER

According to Sennheiser, until now, the growing demand for truly open earbuds has come with certain sonic compromises. The company has many decades of expertise in tuning open headphones and it’s this skill that Sennheiser says it has drawn on to engineer the new Accentum Clip.

The new earbuds are designed to deliver natural ambiance with high-quality audio reproduction without the need for electronic pass-through modes. Sennheiser says that this “ensures the essential cues of everyday life stay with you, wherever you immerse yourself in your music.”

Sennheiser Signature Sound

At the heart of these Hi-Res Audio Wireless-certified Accentum Clip earbuds is a 12mm dynamic driver that’s been tuned for clarity with a punchy bass and smooth treble designed for long listening sessions. To ensure the Sennheiser Signature sound, the earbuds use a Dynamic EQ for compensation of tonal shifts when the playback volume is lowered. As the volume level increases, the equalization curve rolls back to ensure balance while preventing unpleasant distortion.

A full charge of the Sennheiser Accentum Clip earbuds provides up to 9 hours. of playing time with three backup charges in the case.

SENNHEISER

To achieve a balance between sound quality, battery life and a reliable Bluetooth connection on the maximum number of devices, Sennheiser opted to use SBC and AAC audio codecs instead of the Qualcomm family of aptX codecs. The Accentum Clip also support Google Fast Pair for quick and easy connection on Android devices.

On smartphone and other devices that support Sony’s LDAC codec, users can also stream music in high-resolution streaming for high bitrate audio transmission. To control things, there is the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app that enables the Accentum Clip to be further personalized in terms of sound and connectivity. The app has a 5-band EQ, shareable presets, Sound Check’s guided prompts and more.

To ensure the earbuds are compatible with an active life, Sennheiser has given the Accentum Clip earbuds an IP54 rating against dust and water ingress. A full charge of the onboard battery can provide up to nine hours of playtime on a single charge and there are another three top-ups in the charging case

With an IP54 rating, the Accentum Clip are built to withstand dust and sweat.

Built for Real Life

Sennheiser says it’s engineered the Accentum Clip for a secure and “barely there” fit. Each earbud weighs just 6.8g which is about the same as a hotel key card and its sleeve. A flexible silicone bridge keeps the earbuds positioned in the sweet spot of almost any ear to ensure optimum sound and stability when commuting or working out in the gym.

To control the music, the new earbuds have easy-to-find textured touch controls that can control volume levels, calls and playlists. A pocketable charging case provides three additional battery top-ups that take the overall listening time to 36 hours. A 10-minute rapid charge over the USB Type-C cable provides a couple of hours of playback.

Powered by Bluetooth 6.0, the Accentum Clip are designed for speedy pairing, support multipoint connectivity and independent earbud use. For clear voice communication, each earbud has a dual-microphone system paired with an AI noise reduction algorithm that isolates the wearer’s voice from ambient sound in the background.

Pricing and Availability:

The Sennheiser Accentum Clip wireless earbuds are available in Black and Cream colorways, and they ship in zero-plastic eco-friendly packaging. The earbuds will be available from July 23, 2026, with a suggested retail price of £149 / €179 / CDN $269.95.
