Sky

British broadcaster Sky has unveiled an offer with 20% off its Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air TVs – with built-in connection to Sky’s programming over broadband.

No Satellite Dish Required

Where it used to be the case that users needed a satellite dish to receive Sky programming, the new TVs, which come in three screen sizes, don’t need either a dish or a separate box.

Instead, once you’re connected to the internet, the televisions, which have a streaming box built into them, can access channels automatically.

Sky TV Packages And World Cup Access

Sky customers pay for the programming according to the package they choose. Sky Essential TV starts at £15 ($20) a month for over 100 channels, including Netflix and Discovery+. There’s also the Sky Ultimate TV pack which costs £24 ($33) and builds in Disney+, HBO Max and more.

The World Cup is broadcast on BBC and ITV, so any Sky package includes access.

Sky Glass Gen 2 Vs. Sky Glass Air: Key Differences

The TVs themselves are also sold on a monthly basis, starting at £4.50 (just over $6) a month for the 43-inch model Sky Glass Air. That’s a 20% reduction on the usual £6 ($8) a month. You can also buy the TV outright in one payment of £237.

The larger screens are 55-inch and 65-inch, respectively. The difference between Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air is that Glass Gen 2 has a soundbar built in and Dolby Atmos, while Air is a smaller and lighter unit with Dolby Audio speakers. Both have 4K HDR Quantum Dot screens.

Both models run the Sky OS interface, which allows users to restart live programmes, create personal playlists, and find content across apps using hands-free voice control.

The most expensive TV in the range is the 65-inch Sky Glass Gen 2 which costs £19 per month or £959 up front.

The new discounted pricing is available now until June 17.
