Maono P1 Hybrid Audio Interface

The new Maono P1 Hybrid Audio Interface has been launched with an affordable price and features normally found on more expensive devices.

MAONO

Creating effective content for media like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube often involves the use of multiple devices to produce the different formats for each channel. Audio is an important part of the mix as poor sound quality is an even bigger turn-off than sub-par video quality.

Affordable microphone brand Maono has announced the launch of two new hybrid audio interfaces aimed at content creators using a wide range of equipment to create their videos. The two new affordable interfaces join Maono’s existing roster of audio products, which include a hybrid wireless microphone with both USB and XLR connectivity.

The new Maono P Series of hybrid audio interfaces is part of a new range of products specifically designed to meet the evolving needs of modern content creators who often have to work with multiple devices, platforms and workflows.

The P1 interface from Maono is designed to work across computers, smartphones, tablets and cameras.

Across Multiple Devices

As content creation expands across multiple platforms and channels, content creators find themselves working between different devices, like laptops, smartphones, tablets and camera-based setups. They need to blend recording, livestreaming and production workflows across all these devices.

To address this workflow conundrum, Maono has developed the P Series, which directly addresses this shift towards hybrid workflows and connectivity, where equipment needs to be streamlined for multi-device creation without loading on the technical complexity.

Designed for clear audio and reliable operation, the P Series incorporates high-performance preamps with low noise levels. The P1 interface delivers up to 70dB gain with an EIN of -130.6dB. This means it can capture audio when using gain-hungry dynamic microphones like the Shure SM7b. The P2 interface provides up to 56dB gain with -129.5dB EIN, for clean audio in multi-person recording setups.

The P Series of audio intefaces have been designed to make them easy and intuitive to use across all digital devices.

Two Different Models

The primary difference between the two models lies in their input and output configurations. The P1 is designed for solo creators and streamlined workflows. It has one Mic/Line input, one instrument input, a single microphone preamp, plus a 3.5mm headphone output. The P1 also has an Auto Gain function, which automatically optimizes recording levels, making the unit accessible to beginners and entry-level users.

The Maono P2 interface is designed for dual-person recording and more flexible production setups. It has two Mic/Line/Instrument combo inputs, dual microphone preamps, and plus the option of 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs. An additional USB power input enables the use of an independent or auxiliary power supply, making it suitable for mobile recording and more complex streaming environments.

Both new interfaces include USB OTG connectivity for direct use with smartphones and tablets, as well as stereo loopback with three channels, offering simultaneous capture of system audio and microphone input. This makes the interfaces suitable for livestreaming, gaming and general content production.

The new Maono interfaces are aimed at musicians as well as content creators working across social media platforms.

Works With Smartphones

Additional features include dedicated mute buttons, gain indicators and separate controls for headphone and monitor outputs for more flexibility across recording and monitoring usage.

The P Series also supports direct integration with cameras and mobile devices via 3.5mm outputs. The P1 has a dedicated 3.5mm camera output, while the P2 expands this with both camera and phone outputs for extra versatility.

Maono claims the two new interfaces are suitable for a wide range of users, including podcasters, streamers, musicians and mobile creators by lowering the barrier of entry for professional audio production while also integrating with today’s modern and flexible workflows.
