Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national working president Nara Lokesh has asked party leaders, from MPs and MLAs down to the booth level, to organise a 45-day door-to-door campaign from June 25 to August 10 to explain the coalition government’s achievements to the people, and to involve BJP and Jana Sena Party leaders in it.

In a video conference with senior leaders on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) night, Mr. Lokesh said awareness should be created about the government’s performance over the last two years, as misleading propaganda had been unleashed that the promises made at the time of the elections were largely confined to rhetoric.

He said that, as directed by the party’s national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, pamphlets and booklets on the government’s work should be distributed to every household so that the public was fully informed.

Mr. Lokesh said Mr. Naidu was a brand ambassador for development, and that the welfare schemes being implemented on a large scale must be explained to the people, adding that Andhra Pradesh had set a benchmark for other States.

Mr. Lokesh recalled that the party had faced defeat earlier because of its inability to publicise the work done between 2014 and 2019 and the malicious propaganda of opponents. This should not happen again, he told the leaders.

Mr. Naidu, along with Ministers, MPs and MLAs, would visit every doorstep, he said.

SIR

Mr. Lokesh asked party leaders to be vigilant about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to ensure the process was free of errors. Any problem in the conduct of the SIR should be brought to the notice of the voter verification cell set up in the party’s central office, he said.
