Declining mango pulp exports and a slump in returns to farmers were the prime concerns at the Regional Mango Pulp Exporters’ Conference organised by All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA) at KBR Mango Bhavan here on Wednesday.

Nearly 80 exporters, processors, and industry representatives from all over India participated in the conference. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Chairman Abhishek Dev, Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar, AIFPA chairman Raghav Jadli, south zone chairman Kattamanchi Govardhan Bobby, and other industry leaders attended the meet.

Addressing the gathering, APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev assured stakeholders that their concerns would be taken up with the Central government and that efforts would be made to find suitable solutions to strengthen exports. He highlighted that the mango pulp export sector has been facing severe challenges over the past four years due to reduced production, market uncertainties, and mounting losses, affecting both industries and farmers.

Meanwhile, Collector Sumit Kumar urged exporters to work collectively to ensure better returns for farmers and assured full support from the district administration.

Mr. Govardhan Bobby said the conference in Chittoor showcased the district’s quality mango pulp and processing infrastructure, creating new opportunities for industry growth and farmer welfare.

Exporters pointed out that the crisis has made it difficult for growers to obtain remunerative prices for their produce.
