Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will embark on an extensive multi-district tour across the State beginning June 1, inaugurating welfare programmes, laying foundation stones for major infrastructure projects, reviewing irrigation works and addressing public meetings.

The five-day tour is expected to provide fresh momentum to several flagship programmes and infrastructure projects and is expected to showcase the State government’s focus on housing, agriculture, irrigation, transport and women’s empowerment.

The Chief Minister will begin his tour with a visit to Adilabad district on June 1, where he will launch the second phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He is scheduled to interact with beneficiaries after participating in the housewarming ceremony of the earlier sanctioned houses. He will also address a public meeting, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing housing for economically weaker sections.

On June 3, Mr. Reddy will visit Koheda in Rangareddy district to lay the foundation stone for a massive integrated market project. The proposed market, spread over 239 acres, will be developed with modern facilities aimed at strengthening agricultural trade, logistics and market access for farmers and traders. Officials said the project is expected to emerge as one of Telangana’s largest agricultural trading hubs.

Later that day, the Chief Minister will travel to Mahabubnagar district and stay overnight at Somashila before undertaking a comprehensive review of irrigation projects in the erstwhile Palamuru region.

On June 4, he will inspect major irrigation works, including the Jurala Project and the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme. The irrigation review assumes significance amid the government’s renewed push to complete long-pending projects in the drought-prone Palamuru region.

Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress government had placed the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district at the centre of its irrigation agenda and was prepared to provide all necessary funds to expedite project completion.

According to the minister, the Chief Minister’s review will cover major schemes, including the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme, Koilsagar Project, Bheema and Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Schemes. He said the government was determined to complete pending works and transform the region into a fully irrigated and agriculturally prosperous area.

Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy, who recently laid the foundation stone for the Ajilapur Lift Irrigation Scheme in Devarakadra mandal, said the ₹32-crore project would provide irrigation support to nearly 1,400 acres in Ajilapur, Gaddagudem and Venkatayapalli villages by drawing water from the Koilsagar Balancing Reservoir.

The Chief Minister’s tour will conclude with a major programme at the Secunderabad Parade Ground on June 5, where 553 buses procured at ₹199 crore will be distributed to women’s self-help groups. Under the initiative, the groups will own the buses and lease them to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, creating sustainable income-generating opportunities while strengthening public transport services.
