 P. Shroff-trained D’artagnan (G. Vivek up) won the Zavaray S. Poonawalla Colts Championship Stakes (1,600m), the chief event of the races held here on Sunday (June 21).

The winner is owned by Mr & Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke & Mr. Jay V. Shirke rep. Horse Haven Breeding and Racing Pvt. Ltd., Mr & Mrs. Farouq K. Rattonsey rep. Hyperion Bloodstock Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Mehernosh H. Deboo, Mrs. Liane Luthria, Mr. Milan Luthria & Mrs. Daisy K.D.B. Mehta & Mr. Darashaw Keki Mehta rep. Darashaw Racing & Breeding Pvt. Vivek confidently kept his colt a handy second last position till the bend before manoeuvring the mount from wide outside in the home stretch. D’artagnan responded well, started galloping tremendously and overtook the leader Stud Poker while passing 200m to win resolutely.
