All-rounder Kathryn Bryce will lead Scotland in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup a second successive time, hoping to build on its maiden appearance in the event back in 2024.
“It was hugely difficult to select a fifteen, but that’s a testament to the growth and success of the women’s game in Scotland over the last few years,” head coach Craig Wallace said of the squad.

“The depth we have now to choose from is incredible and every selection is enjoyable, but really tough. I think we’ve got a really good balance in the squad in terms of what we think we need to succeed in this tournament,” Wallace said.
Left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon’s inclusion is one of the headlines of this announcement. The experienced Gordon represented England and returns to Scotland, her home nation. She has 60 caps for Scotland before switching to England for the 2018 T20 World Cup.
“We have multiple world-class players in this team, and Kirstie [Gordon] is definitely one of them,” Wallace said.
“We welcome her involvement in the group and expect her to drive our standards up even more and help us to improve Scottish cricket. I’m looking forward to working with her and helping her enhance her own skills as well.”
The squad also features three U-19 stars bowler Gabriella Fontenla, wicketkeeper-batter Pippa Sproul and uncapped pace bowler Maisie Maceira.
Scotland made its way into the upcoming tournament in England and Wales via the World Cup Global Qualifer, where it broke into the Super Six along with the Netherlands.
Despite losing to Bangladesh, Scotland managed to secure key wins over Ireland and USA in the Super Six, and finished at the third place in the Global Qualifier, thus securing its place for the Women’s T20 World Cup.
In preparations for the T20 World Cup, Scotland will play a tri-series contest featuring Bangladesh and Netherlands in Edinburgh. These are the first home fixtures for the side since 2022.
