Uber has announced plans to expand its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad. The ride-hailing services company has also evinced interest in setting up a corporate office in the Bharat Future City, the new city being developed beyond the Outer Ring Road.
Uber Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dara Khosrowshahi met Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Wednesday.
CM Reddy has asked the Uber CEO to focus on the growing parking challenges in major cities in the country. He asked the company to set up multi-level parking facilities at some crucial areas to help decongest traffic.
Khosrowshahi briefed Reddy on the company’s business operations in Telangana and its plans to expand.
The facility, which is a first-of-its-kind office outside the United States, currently employs 600 engineers.
“The CEO expressed interest in establishing an Uber corporate office in Bharat Future City,” a government official said.
Uber Chief Business Officer (CBO) Madhu Kannan and Uber India & South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh also attended the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Khosrowshahi visited the CoE and interacted with employees.
