Backed by global certifications, the partnership is positioned to strengthen supply chains for high-performance hemp fibre in export-focused textile markets.

The US-based industrial hemp processor and operator of the largest hemp decortication facility in the Western Hemisphere, Panda Biotech, has entered into a strategic partnership with Culturewell Trading LLP, designating Culturewell Hemp as its authorised distributor and importer of US-grown industrial hemp products throughout India.

Partnership aimed at global textile supply chain growth

The partnership positions both companies at the centre of the most significant growth opportunities in the global textile supply chain.

India is home to some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated textile manufacturing ecosystems — supplying yarns, fabrics, denim, garments, technical textiles, and home furnishings to leading global brands.

As demand for traceable, sustainable raw materials accelerates, Indian mills are increasingly seeking reliable hemp fibre partners capable of delivering scale and consistent quality.

Demand for sustainable fibres drives collaboration

Dixie Carter, President, Panda Biotech, said Indian textile mills and manufacturers are seeking scalable, high-quality, sustainable fibres that can compete globally on performance, consistency, and price. Through the partnership with Culturewell, the company now has a trusted, experienced partner on the ground to accelerate the adoption of American-grown hemp across India, he added.

Both companies aim to drive the adoption of high-performance hemp materials across India’s textile sector by combining Panda Biotech’s premium, mechanically processed hemp fibre with Culturewell’s market expertise and established distribution network.

Every shipment is backed by OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and USDA BioPreferred certifications, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to sustainability, traceability, and global quality standards.

Strong positioning for Indian textile mills

“Indian mills are among the most innovative and capable manufacturers in the world, and Panda Biotech’s fibre quality, consistency, traceability, and certifications position this partnership to become a meaningful long-term presence in the market, said Culturewell Hemp official.

Panda Biotech’s US-grown hemp fibre enters the Indian market with distinct advantages over established European and Chinese suppliers.

US-grown hemp fibre processed in India may qualify for duty benefits on exports to the US market, creating a meaningful cost edge over competing sources.

Panda Biotech’s mechanically cottonised fibre delivers the traceability and high performance that Indian textile mills need to compete globally.

The certification provides a verifiable sustainability story that resonates with export-focused brands and conscious consumers worldwide.
