In case you somehow missed the entirety of fashion’s biggest night—aka the Met Gala—I’m here to confidently say that Kendall Jenner had one of the best looks of the night. At first glance, her stunning Zac Posen for GapStudio gown is simple, timeless, effortlessly elegant, and…literally made from upcycled Gap T-shirts!

“We began with something very simple, a white Gap t-shirt, and started to manipulate it, pulling and draping to echo the movement you see in carved parian marble,” Zac told Cosmopolitan exclusively in a statement.

He added, “The t-shirt is a wardrobe essential; it moves with the body, and that felt aligned with the spirit of the theme. From there, it became very tactile—jersey, molded leather, draping—to create something fluid, sculptural, and alive.”

Kenny kept things lowkey as she made her way up the iconic Met steps, but she later showed another stunning detail from the gown off the red carpet. Once she entered the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the supermodel revealed a breathtaking set of wings. You mean to tell me her dress did this the entire time?

The gorgeous reveal was seemingly inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a Greek sculpture from the Hellenistic era. Of course, Cosmo shared the love for Kenny’s look on social media, where followers were awestruck by the breathtaking moment.

“OMG it just gets better,” Kendall’s older sister, Khloé Kardashian, commented on the post, while other fans quipped, “Why didn’t she do this on the carpet?”

I can’t help but wonder the same thing, but knowing how hectic the Met Gala red carpet gets—from run-ins with exes to literal protests against the coveted event’s organizers—I don’t blame Kenny for saving her grand reveal for later in the evening.

This year’s Met Gala theme was “Costume Art” with the dress code “Fashion Is Art,” and given the origin story of Kendall’s dress and her hidden wings, she not only understood the assignment. She absolutely nailed it!
