A study revealed the eye-watering cost that comes with attending games during the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs.

But that proposition can be significantly pricey, depending on the location, team, arena, and location. And yes, like in real estate, ticket pricing is all about location, location, location.

A study by the Action Network looked at ticket prices for five teams in the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs. Some of those ticket prices led to some eye-popping figures.

The lowest-cost option among the teams surveyed was the Carolina Hurricanes. This “lowest-cost” option averages $5,334.78 for a family outing. Of course, those are not the most affordable tickets. But on average, taking into account the most expensive and the most affordable ones, seeing the Hurricanes at the Lenovo Center is the least expensive proposition.

In contrast, the most expensive average tickets for teams in the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs belong to the Montreal Canadiens. Habs fans can expect to pay around $38,783 for a family outing at the Bell Centre, including four tickets, food, drink, and parking.

That’s a staggering bump when considering that the same outing would cost about $974.52 during the regular season. Those numbers mark the highest price increase of all teams surveyed in the study.

But that’s not the biggest gap between the most affordable and the most expensive tickets. The widest gap belongs to another club.

The study showed that the most affordable tickets to Ball Arena can cost around $1,563.30 for a family of four. In contrast, the most expensive tickets for the same family of four can hit $60,240.78.

That’s an eye-watering difference of $58,677.48. Of course, that difference accounts for the types of seats and location. It’s evident that premium locations cost much more than other seats further away from ice level.

As for the Buffalo Sabres, the study showed that ticket prices during the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs jumped from $375.84 for four tickets in the regular season to $9,974.85 in the postseason.

While the jump isn’t as breathtaking as the one in Montreal, it’s still a pretty hefty bump.

Also, the Vegas Golden Knights, unsurprisingly, remain one of the priciest locations in the NHL. The average estimated cost of an outing for a family of four is $8,015.78, including food, drinks, and parking.

Yes, the numbers paint a revealing picture of the cost of attending games during the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs. With the way the overall economy is trending, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these costs climb further next season.

In the meantime, fans hoping to be a part of the Stanley Cup Final can expect to pay a small fortune for the privilege of seeing their beloved squad fight for the chance to hoist the hardest trophy to earn in professional sports.
