EXCLUSIVE: Daniels, the Oscar-winning filmmaking duo consisting of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, has added four to the cast of its untitled Universal event film, sources tell Deadline: Silvia Dionicio (Task), Jackson Kelly (Imperfect Women), Kerrice Brooks (My Old Ass), and Thalia Dudek (Better Man).

Reps for Universal declined comment. Both the film’s logline and all character details are being kept under wraps. Other previously announced cast members include Matt Damon, Sandra Oh, Charles Melton, and Sean Kaufman.

While Damon is essentially the lead of the film, sources say the younger ensemble the Daniels have been auditioning for the last several weeks will have equal footing opposite the Oscar winner, with Kaufman being the lead of that group.

Kwan and Scheinert will direct from their own script and produce alongside Jonathan Wang through their company Playgrounds’ overall deal with Universal. Executive VP Production Development Sara Scott and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee for Universal. The film has been slated for release on November 19, 2027.

Dionicio is perhaps best known for her turn as Mark Ruffalo’s adopted daughter in Brad Ingelsby’s lauded HBO series Task. She’ll next be seen in Netflix’s YA drama Poser from creator Lauren Iungerich, with additional TV credits including Chicago P.D., FBI: Most Wanted and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. She is represented by CAA, Ikigai Management & Media, and Granderson Des Rochers.

Recently seen on shows like Imperfect Women and The Pitt, Kelly’s other credits include the series Teacup and Chucky, the Hulu horror film Carved, Searchlight/Hulu’s The Greatest Hits, and AMC’s Lucky Hank. He’ll next be seen in A24’s Zac Efron film Famous and Netflix’s coming-of-age drama series The Body from Quinn Shephard. He is repped by Gersh and 11:11 Entertainment.

With credits including Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on Paramount+ and Megan Park’s breakout feature My Old Ass, Brooks is repped by Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Toczek Suddleson Law Group.

Dudek has previously been seen in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, Doctor Who, and the Robbie Williams film Better Man. Upcoming, they have Amazon’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie from Mike Flanagan, plus Netflix’s The Undertow. They are repped by 42, Independent Talent Group, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
