EXCLUSIVE: Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus, Better Call Saul) has joined the cast of Running, a new feature film from director Gavin O’Connor and writer Bill Dubuque. Hailing from Apple Studios, the film is produced by Makeready along with Nike Films.

Based on an original story by O’Connor and Dubuque, Running follows a homeless high school running prodigy on the hunt for greatness as he uses his gifts to outrun his past and find a family.

Seehorn joins previously announced stars Spike Fearn and Brian Tyree Henry.

Of the film, O’Connor has previously noted, “I started thinking about building a story around a homeless kid who doesn’t have a place in the world. No love. No friends. No family. The only home he knows is the streets. It felt like a great place to begin a character’s journey and tell an underdog story about the human spirit.”

Seehorn currently stars as the lead of the Vince Gilligan and Apple TV series Pluribus, for which she has received a Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe award for her performance. Pluribus is the most-watched show on Apple TV, according to the streamer.

She is best known for playing Kim Wexler in the AMC series Better Call Saul. For Seehorn’s performance, she received two Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also received an Emmy nod for her role in AMC’s short-form comedy Cooper’s Bar, which she also produced. Additional TV credits include HBO’s Veep, Hulu’s miniseries The Act, and the CBS All Access series The Twilight Zone.

For the big screen, she was most recently seen in the psychological thriller film Sender, which premiered in March at SXSW. Seehorn is repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment.
