With "absolute black" contrast, Xgimi's latest projectors look like a promising option for home theater enthusiasts

CES 2026 was, as always, a busy one for the home theater space, with a lot of attention going to brands like TCL and LG at the annual tech conference in January. That led some smaller brands to fly under the radar, but some of the most exciting releases came from some of the home theater brands that aren’t household names.

Xgimi unveiled its Titan Noir Series at the trade show, and it’s now opening for preorders on Kickstarter, with discounts for early backers. The projector is designed for serious home theater enthusiasts who don’t necessarily want to splurge on a professional setup. That’s not to say they’re not an investment; the Titan Noir starts at $3,999, though Kickstarter backers can get $1,700 off with a $50 refundable deposit.

What’s potentially most exciting about the brand’s latest projector line is its “absolute black” display. Projectors can often look more washed out and gray compared to TVs, but Xgimi’s Titan Noir line is designed to make dark scenes darker, without compromising brightness.

The baseline Noir model boasts a 7000:1 native contrast, while the top-of-the-line Noir Max boasts up to 10000:1 native contrast (that is, the difference between the brightest and darkest part of the picture). The mid-range, meanwhile, has 8000:1 native contrast. What that translates to is, ideally, picture quality that can actually handle dark movie scenes. As for brightness, the projectors range from 4800 ISO Lumens for the Titan Noir to 7000 ISO Lumens for the Titan Noir Max. They use a dual iris system to better control contrast without digital dimming. As for sound, the line features two Harman Kardon speakers, with DTS Virtual:X sound.

As for setup, the projectors are available with a four-legged tabletop stand. You can also mount it with a floor-stand or ceiling mount. The latest line also features a wide array of inputs, including optical LAN, and multiple USB and HDMI ports (including eARC).

The Kickstarter for the Xgimi Titan Noir Series opens on April 23, with units expected to ship out in June.
