Ukrainian drones struck Perm overnight, sending smoke rising over the city in what appeared to be a repeat attack on a Transneft linear production and dispatch station.

Drone danger alerts were declared twice during the night, and emergency notifications appeared on residents’ television screens. Sirens continued to sound through the morning. Telegram channels posted photos and videos showing billowing smoke and drones flying overhead.

Local residents reported several explosions in the city’s southern districts around 7 a.m. Authorities activated the “Carpet” air defense plan and closed the airport.

Students at the Petroleum school in Perm’s Industrialny district were evacuated, the Telegram channel Properm reported. Classes were canceled at Perm State University (PSNRU), and students at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics were shifted to remote learning.

Ukrainian Telegram channels claim a new explosion hit the same Transneft linear production and dispatch station targeted the day before. The facility receives, stores, and pumps oil through trunk pipelines. After the previous attack, thick black smoke blanketed the sky over Perm, and eyewitnesses said the city had been hit by an “oil rain.”

Pro-war Z-channels, including the Telegram channel Dva Mayora, write that footage of the strikes on Perm Krai “clearly shows ordinary Ukrainian Armed Forces drones, which are now covering distances of up to 2,000 kilometers.”

Neither Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin nor Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin commented on the attack in their Telegram channels.
