Canadian physical security vendor Genetec celebrates the second anniversary of its Sydney Experience Centre with a high-profile guest.
Genetec has marked two years since the launch of its Sydney Experience Centre, commemorating the anniversary with a visit from Canada’s high commissioner to Australia, Julie Sunday.
Located in Sydney’s Tech Central precinct, the facility operates as a live security operations centre, showcasing technologies spanning video management, access control, licence plate recognition, and cloud-based services.

“Genetec is a Canadian leader delivering world-class security technologies that support Australia’s critical infrastructure and public safety,” Sunday said in a 23 April statement.
“Genetec’s expansion in Australia demonstrates how Canadian innovation is creating local jobs while strengthening security cooperation between our two countries.”
The centre’s design reflects the shift towards unified security operations, incorporating IoT-driven visibility and connected systems that can be monitored and managed in real time.
Genetec’s Sydney site also serves as a regional hub for partners and customers, providing training and simulation environments to help organisations understand how integrated platforms can improve both operational efficiency and resilience against emerging threats.
According to George Moawad, Genetec’s country manager for Oceania, the investment is part of the company’s long-term commitment to supporting Australia’s security landscape.
“Genetec continues to invest significantly in Australia and plays a lead role in supporting teams from private sector enterprises, government agencies and critical infrastructure to strengthen and reinforce their physical security posture as well as drive digital resilience and accelerate innovation,” Moawad said.
