The company said it plans to use the funding to strengthen its software infrastructure and grow its team in the UK.

Dunshaughlin-based SaaS company HR Duo has raised €1.6m in a funding round led by Puma Growth Partners – a key existing investor – with support from Enterprise Ireland.

The company said it plans to use the funding to strengthen its software infrastructure and grow its team in the UK, where more than 70pc of its “current sales pipeline” is located.

HR Duo is a human resources (HR) and workforce management SaaS platform built for SMEs with between 100 and 1,000 employees in frontline-intensive industries including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, retail and hospitality.

The platform aims to integrate workforce management, HR compliance and employment relations in a single system, with the goal of enabling organisations – often under significant regulatory obligation and without large dedicated HR teams – to run efficient, compliant people operations for complex and shift-based workforces.

“This investment marks a confident new chapter for HR Duo. We grew ARR by almost 30pc last year and we are targeting over 41pc growth this year. With 75pc of our pipeline in the UK and a growing presence out of Birmingham, the direction of travel is clear,” said Jerome Forde, the CEO of HR Duo.

“The continued backing of Puma Growth Partners, Enterprise Ireland and our seed investors gives us everything we need to scale with purpose.”

In July 2024, the company raised €1.7m in a venture debt funding round led by Salica Investments, having expanded to Birmingham in the UK in June 2023. HR Duo serves customers across Ireland and the UK, and also has a site in Romania.

“We are delighted to continue our support for HR Duo, having first invested over three years ago,” said Henri Songeur, investment director at Puma Growth Partners.

“With workforce management a fast-growing segment of HR tech, HR Duo is well positioned to capitalise on this opportunity, and we are excited to support the team in their next phase of growth.”

HR Duo employs more than 40 people and claims more than 27,000 daily users. It said that last year was “particularly notable for the growing scale of organisations choosing HR Duo”, and it had noted “a meaningful shift toward larger, more complex customers” such as “mid-market SMEs with more sophisticated workforce management needs”.

Mark Christal, executive director of Enterprise Ireland, said the body was “proud to support HR Duo on this funding round as part of our ongoing commitment to backing high-potential Irish companies at every stage of their growth journey”.
