Catch us at Figma Config
Peter Zawistowicz Marketing at StackBlitz · 2024-06-06 · via StackBlitz Blog

Like many others in the design systems ecosystem, we’re heading to Figma Config later this month. Now in its sixth edition, Config is the largest and most notable event for the web design and engineering community. Here’s a rundown of what we’re most excited for this year and a few ways you can connect with us during Config.

A dedicated space for developers

Since the launch of Dev Mode last year, Figma has been working hard to make their platform more valuable for non-designers. More recently, the team behind Dev Mode unveiled Code Connect, making it easier for developers to find what they need to translate designs into code right from within Figma.

This year, Figma has dedicated an entire track to developers (expect to see a few more feature announcements for Dev Mode and glowing reviews from Figma’s happy customers). We’re particularly excited for Beyond the hype: a critical look at design systems where leaders from Cash App and GitHub will share their thoughts on the state of design systems today and where they need to go in the future.

Design system maintainers from Alaska Airlines and Booking.com will be discussing Design systems at scale, sharing their experiences working with systems used by hundreds of designers and developers every day.

We’re also looking forward to hearing from product leaders at Linear and Roblox share what it takes to build world-class organizations in their talks on building and growing product teams.

Hang out with the StackBlitz & Chromatic teams

While the great talks from design and development leaders are the main attraction of Config, we’re excited for this year’s “hallway track.” If you don’t happen to bump into us in Moscone, you’ll find us just across the street on Wednesday night for our Design Systems Leaders After Hours event at SPIN.

SPIN SF

In coordination with the Figma team, we’re partnering up with Chromatic (the makers of Storybook) for an informal (no sales pitches here!) community event especially for design systems fans. Expect tasty food, specialty cocktails, great conversation, and plenty of ping pong! We’ll even have some very special swag that you won’t want to miss. If you’d like to join us, apply for a VIP pass on the event page.

Not headed to San Francisco? No problem.

The Config team has worked hard to ensure Config is accessible to everyone, including those who can’t travel to San Francisco to attend in person. Portions of the event will be live streamed. If you’re still craving the in-person experience, Figma has coordinated watch parties at dozens of venues across the globe. Find your local watch party on Figma’s website.
