This 1994 Saab 900 Turbo convertible is one of 500 Commemorative Edition examples built to celebrate the end of classic 900 production. It was first sold by the Sports Car Centre of Syracuse, New York, and remained with its original owner until the seller purchased it in 2022. Now showing under 89k miles, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four that drives the front wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. All Commemorative Edition convertibles came with special 15″ tri-spoke wheels and were finished in Nova Black Metallic over tan leather upholstery, and this example was fitted with a replacement tan soft top in April 2024. Additional equipment includes fog lights, a rear spoiler, R134a-based air conditioning, heated and power-adjustable front bucket seats, and a Clarion AM/FM/cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer and CD changer. This 900CE was listed on BaT in June 2024 and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a copy of the initial purchase invoice, service records dating to 1996, two keys, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Nova Black Metallic with bright beltline trim, and a replacement power-operated tan soft top was installed in April 2024. Additional exterior details include headlight wipers, fog lights, a rear spoiler, impact bumpers, and mudguards. There are scratches on the fenders.

The 15″ Commemorative Edition tri-spoke wheels are mounted with 195/60 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires. Factory equipment included power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering as well as anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes.

The heated and power-adjustable front bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather with black piping that extends to the rear bench and door panels. The driver’s seat does not fold forward. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and power-operated windows, mirrors, and locks. The Clarion AM/FM/cassette stereo features a graphic equalizer and is linked to a console-mounted CD changer. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant and the sole driver-side airbag was replaced in 2022. The rear ashtray does not stay in place.

The four-spoke airbag steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 130-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock as well as gauges for boost pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows under 89k miles, approximately 4k of which were added by the seller. LED back-lighting was added to the instrument cluster under current ownership.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC inline-four was factory rated at 185 horsepower and 201 lb-ft of torque in Commemorative Edition specification due to a modified red box APC, an increased-pressure fuel regulator, and a modified distributor. The battery and spark plug wires were replaced in 2022 along with various hoses. A replacement battery was purchased and installed in June 2026.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.

Manufacturer’s literature will accompany the car along with service records dating to 1996 and a copy of the March 1994 initial purchase invoice, which can be viewed in the gallery.
