





















This 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 was repainted in green with black accents under previous ownership, and it was acquired by the seller on BaT in September 2021. Subsequent work included installing a replacement 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine, a Centerforce clutch, Mastercraft Safety front seats, and an Alpine stereo linked to aftermarket speakers as well as servicing the four-speed manual transmission, rebuilding the dual-range transfer case, installing braided stainless-steel clutch and brake hoses, and changing various weatherstripping components. The truck rides on a 3″ suspension lift with Bilstein dampers, and the 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and 33×10.5″ BFGoodrich tires. Additional features include a black-finished grille, a winch, a roof-access ladder, a roof basket, a Smittybilt rear rack, rear ambulance doors, front disc brakes, a heater, and a roll bar. This FJ40 is offered in Indiana with parts receipts and a Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The truck was repainted in green with black bedliner lower-body accents under previous ownership. Exterior details include a black-finished grille, a replacement rear step, a roof-access ladder, rear ambulance doors, a roof basket with off-road accessories, and a winch. The antenna and various weatherstripping components were replaced under current ownership.

Black-finished 15″ steel wheels wearing polished hubcaps are wrapped in 33×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a spare is mounted to a Smittybilt rack that also carries a high-lift jack and a fuel canister. The truck rides on a 3″ suspension lift featuring a Bilstein steering damper and shock absorbers, and it is further equipped with power steering and manually locking front hubs. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, which received braided stainless-steel lines under current ownership along with a replacement master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders.

The Mastercraft Safety Baja RS seats are trimmed in black and mounted ahead of a roll bar carrying a fire extinguisher and a two-piece gun holder. A spray-on bedliner material has been applied to the floors. Appointments include a cabin heater, a body-color dashboard with a black pad and silver compartment doors, and an aftermarket center console with cup holders and an Alpine stereo head unit with Bluetooth connectivity.

A folding rear seat is mounted in the cargo area, which also has custom-built storage areas and two speakers with wood enclosures.

An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a Bosch tachometer, a 100-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. Aftermarket instrumentation for oil temperature and battery voltage have been added to the center of the dash along with a horn button. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine was installed in 2024, and it features an aluminum water pump, a Champion radiator with an electric fan, and MSD ignition components. An Optima YellowTop battery has been installed along with a high-output alternator.

Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case. The truck was fitted with a replacement Centerforce clutch, an Aisin clutch slave cylinder, and a braided stainless-steel clutch line under current ownership.
The Colorado title displays “Exempt” in the Odometer section.
