Yorkshire began eight points clear of Lancashire in second spot, but they suffered a difficult night across the Pennines.

Liam Livingstone hit four sixes on his way to 60, while other strong contributions from overseas duo Ben McDermott (46) and Shadab Khan (38) saw Lancashire post a fine 216-6.

And a brilliant opening burst from Mitch Stanley, who eventually finished with 4-30, rocked Yorkshire in their tracks as they fell to 47-5, with Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali all out cheaply.

Matt Revis bludgeoned a hard-hitting 52, and while they never looked like chasing the target down, Yorkshire's final score of 194-8 keeps their run rate much higher than Lancashire's and a buffer if they do finish level on points.

North Group leaders Notts Outlaws have now won eight successive matches after a six-wicket success over bottom side Leicestershire Foxes, a result which guarantees a home quarter-final.

The Foxes decided to bat first at Trent Bridge, but they were strangled by the home attack. Stephen Eskinazi anchored the innings with 52 not out but apart from opening partner Ben Green, who hit 21, nobody else passed 20 as they limped to 143-7.

Even though Notts slipped to 59-3 chasing, they were always in control and Tom Moores sealed victory with a six off Josh Hull to finish on 51 not out as the visitors lost a fifth straight game.

Durham came through a nail-biter at Chester-le-Street as they beat Derbyshire Falcons by just five runs to stay in the hunt.

Colin Ackermann's fine 69 not out was the bedrock of Durham's total of 165-7 and when Derbyshire fell to 104-5, including two wickets for Brydon Carse, the hosts were strong favourites.

Harry Came and Ross Whiteley put on 56 until Whiteley was out to the penultimate ball of the final over bowled by Ben Raine.

And with Nick Potts unable to hit his only ball for six, Durham took the four points as the Falcons finished on 160-6.

Surrey booked their place in the quarter-finals as they inflicted revenge on Kent at Canterbury, easing to a nine-wicket success.

The Spitfires, who bowled Surrey out for 116 at The Kia Oval in the reverse fixture, were skittled for just 102 with only Zak Crawley (31) offering any sort of resistance and Jordan Clark (3-26) leading the assault with the ball.

In reply, Surrey made light work of their modest chase, wrapping up the points in the ninth over and for the loss of only one wicket.

Jason Roy (50 not out) wreaked much of the damage, bringing up his half-century with a boundary from what proved to be the final delivery of the match.

Hampshire's knockout place was guaranteed earlier this week, but they slipped to second in the South Group as they were comprehensively outplayed by Essex at Chelmsford.

From 76-2 in the eighth over, Hampshire were bundled out for only 130 in 15.5 overs as Matt Critchley claimed 4-16 with his leg-spin.

In a match between two sides already out of contention, Sussex Sharks beat Middlesex by 18 runs at Northwood.

The out-ground proved a batter's paradise as the Sharks were propelled to their total of 213-3 by a 169-run partnership between Daniel Hughes and Jack Leaning.

Leaning was out to the last ball of the innings for 65 but Hughes finished 108 not out off only 52 balls.

Middlesex were ahead of the rate at halfway, helped by Max Holden's 52 off 20, but three wickets from Tymal Mills really slowed them and they ended on 195-9.

A blistering 22-ball 70 from Kamran Dhariwal secured a significant victory for Gloucestershire against Worcestershire at New Road and booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Gloucestershire had been set 182 to win, after an astonishing 47 runs came from the final 12 balls of the Rapids' innings - 44 of them from the bat of Kashif Ali (58 not out), who delivered an explosive late flurry including six sixes.

Gloucestershire began their chase quickly but when Worcestershire reduced them to 73-4, the target appeared to be out of reach.

Dhariwal then remarkably fired seven maximums in the space of two overs to turn the match on its head. Despite a late wobble from the Gloucestershire lower order, they sealed victory with an over to spare.

Somerset took a stride towards the quarter-finals with a routine seven-wicket victory over group toppers Northamptonshire at Taunton.

Put in, the Steelbacks lost in-form opening pair Ricardo Vasconcelos (23) and Chris Lynn (1) cheaply, but a dazzling knock of 76 from only 43 balls by Lewis McManus lifted Northants up to what looked a competitive total of 162-8.

It did not take long to establish that the group winners were a number of runs short in their defence. Both Will Smeed and Thomas Rew hit 46 from 20 balls and Somerset were well over halfway in their chase by the eighth over.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who finished 38 not out, administered four sixes of his own to ensure Somerset clinched victory in the 15th over to set up an intriguing clash with Worcestershire on Sunday.

Warwickshire edged a dramatic meeting with Glamorgan at Edgbaston, on a night in which both sides bowed out of the competition.

The Bears sealed the points with the penultimate ball of the match when chasing 189, after Dan Mousley fired two huge leg-side sixes.

Opener Will Smale (58) held the first half of Glamorgan's innings together before Sean Dickson (55 not out) and Jimmy Neesham (27 not out) put on 74 to elevate the visitors up to 188–4.

Warwickshire laid down a platform thanks to a T20 career-best knock of 72 by Rob Yates (six fours, five sixes).

Glamorgan fought back and when Ben Kellaway (3-35) claimed the wickets of Yates and Sam Hain in the space of three deliveries, the momentum swung towards the away side.

The Bears still needed 11 from the final three balls when Neesham bowled a no ball which Mousley hammered away for six - he followed it up with another maximum to lead the hosts to victory.
