There’s no easy way to say this, but summer is halfway through, which means fall trends are trickling in slowly but surely. One fall trend, in particular, has shown up out in the wild already, endorsed by the effortlessly stylish celebrity Shailene Woodley. While out and about during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Woodley was spotted wearing a chic, laid-back outfit that featured the accessory trend.

She wore a black T-shirt paired with black Bermuda shorts and sleek black heels. An all-black outfit usually isn’t that exciting, but the accessory trend she added was fall-friendly and eye-catching. The trend in question was a pair of sheer socks. They made her look much more interesting, adding a textured contrast that not every all-black outfit can achieve. The sheer socks trend has come in and out of the trend cycle for the past few years, often during the transitional period from summer to fall.
