The trailer for Megan Park‘s upcoming Prime Video series Sterling Point has made a splash.
Featuring “Look At My Life” from Gracie Abrams upcoming album Daughter From Hell, the clip of the coming-of-age show introduces viewers to many characters. They will be available to meet on the small screen starting August 5 when all episodes arrive on the streamer.
The series is led by 17-year-old Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin). Raised in New York City with her twin brother (Keen Ruffalo) and loving adoptive father (Jay Duplass), Annie’s life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada. There, she finds new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets.
Annie immediately starts asking questions in the clip when her grandfather’s will reveals land in Canada, but her father doesn’t answer beyond the bare minimum. Thus, she journeys to the mysterious island she has just learned about and meets not only some new friends but a sister of sorts in Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle). Looks like the two very different personalities will have to share their grandfather’s cottage for the time being.
Annie’s overeagerness clashes with Ramona’s hostility, especially when Annie — observing that Ramona looks just like their mother — asks if she can hug Ramona, who says “Absolutely not.”
Sterling Point also stars), Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie (Billie Blue), Daniel Quinn-Toye (Sunny Dancer) Bo Bragason (Renegade Nell, The Radleys), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Nikko Angelo Hinayo (Davey & Jonesie’s Locker), Mabel Strachan (The Ridge), Elle-Maija Tailfeathers (Three Pines), and Missi Pyle (Harlan Coben’s Shelter).
Megan Park (My Old Ass) serves as a director, co-showrunner, and executive producer alongside Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, under their Fake Empire banner and Dani Gorin and Tom Ackerley under LuckyChap.
The series was teased at Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest, and it falls into the streamer’s hot Venn diagram of Canadian settings, YA content and more.
