Rico Nasty has reunited with producer Kenny Beats, who is now calling himself Kenneth Blume, for her new album, RX. It’s out July 24. Lead single “Cupcake” marks a return to Rico’s signature “sugar trap” sound following her 2025 rap-rock LP Lethal. Below, watch her joyride in an off-roader in the song’s Miggy-directed video.
“I missed someone that was honest with me,” Rico said of working with Blume again. “And I missed someone who knew me back then, before I had any success. I felt like if I’m going to get back to doing me, I should go back to someone who can be real with me, somebody who’s not too serious or draining.” 100 Gecs’ Dylan Brady also contributed to the LP and produced a song called “Butthead.”
Blume added, “From the day we met, no one has made me laugh harder or pushed me further out of my comfort zone. RX feels like homecoming. This project is a reminder of where she came from, what made us all fans; and a scary look at how much better she KEEPS getting.”
Blume produced Rico’s breakout single, 2018’s “Smack a Bitch,” as well as half of that year’s Nasty. In 2019, the two collaborated on the joint mixtape Anger Management. Rico recently appeared in the Elle Fanning-led Apple TV series Margo’s Got Money Troubles as KC, an OnlyFans content creator who performs under the name WangMangler.
Later this year, Rico will support RX with a headlining tour which will take her across the U.S. this fall. The dates are interspersed with the rappers dates with Hayley Williams, whose own headline tour she’ll be opening for. Check out a full itinerary below.
