The Golden State Warriors saw their season end Friday night with a 111-96 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. The defeat eliminated Golden State from playoff contention and marked the second time in three seasons the franchise has missed the postseason.

Stephen Curry, who helped keep the Warriors alive with a strong performance against the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in the week, was limited by Phoenix’s defense in the season finale. Curry finished with 17 points on 4-of-16 shooting as the Suns secured the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

After the loss, attention quickly shifted to what comes next for Golden State. While the future of the roster and coaching staff remains uncertain, Curry received immediate public support from his wife, Ayesha Curry, after the Warriors’ season ended.

Ayesha Curry Posts Message To Stephen Curry After Golden State Warriors Loss

Ayesha Curry shared a message on Instagram after Golden State’s elimination, praising her husband after another demanding season.

“Endlessly proud of my @stephencurry30 !!!” she wrote on her Instagram story.

The post came shortly after the Warriors’ season-ending defeat and reflected support for Curry despite the disappointing result.

Curry completed his 17th NBA season and again carried a major role for Golden State. Even while dealing with a right knee injury that caused him to miss 27 games during the regular season, he remained the team’s central offensive player.

Two nights before the Suns’ loss, Curry delivered a vintage outing in Golden State’s Play-In win over the Clippers. He scored 35 points and helped extend the Warriors’ season for one more game.

Against Phoenix, however, the Suns limited his clean looks throughout the night. Curry made three of his 10 attempts from three-point range and never fully found rhythm offensively.

Ayesha Curry’s message came as a reminder of the family support system surrounding the four-time NBA champion during a difficult finish to the year.

Steph and Ayesha Curry have been together since 2008. They married in 2011 and have four children.

Golden State now enters an offseason with several major decisions ahead.

The Warriors have long been built around Curry, Draymond Green, and head coach Steve Kerr. Together, that core won four championships, reached six NBA Finals, and helped define one of the league’s most successful eras.

After Friday’s loss, Kerr acknowledged uncertainty about the future.

“I don’t know what’s gonna happen next, but I love you guys,” Kerr said to Curry and Green following the game.

Kerr later said he would take time before meeting with ownership and management to discuss next steps.

Curry also addressed his own offseason priorities, particularly his knee recovery.

“They say a lot of golf helps my knee,” Curry said with a smile after the game.

He then added a more serious update.

“It’s mostly rest,” Curry said. “There are some things I can do to prepare myself for next year.”

That suggests Curry expects to continue playing and preparing for another season.

Even at age 38, Curry remains one of the league’s most influential players. His health will be central to Golden State’s hopes of returning to playoff contention in 2026-27.

For now, the Warriors must process an early exit after falling short in the Play-In Tournament.

But while basketball questions remain unresolved, Curry’s support away from the court was clear immediately after the loss.

Ayesha Curry’s message captured that sentiment in simple terms after another long NBA season came to an end.
