The Buffalo Bills added a speedster at wide receiver in the NFL draft on Saturday.

The Buffalo Bills added a speedy playmaker for Josh Allen on Saturday, selecting Connecticut wide receiver Skyler Bell with the 125th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills fans were waiting to see if GM Brandon Beane would address the wide receiver position, and he finally did. Bell is now headed to Buffalo to catch passes from Josh Allen, and his journey to get there is one of the more unique stories of this year’s draft class.

Buffalo Bills 2026 NFL Draft Pick: Skyler Bell

Skyler Bell spent three years at Wisconsin before transferring to UConn, where he broke out and turned heads at the next level. Along the way, he reportedly turned down a $500,000 NIL offer from Michigan — a decision that speaks to his confidence in his own path. The late-bloomer label fits, but the tape and the testing numbers suggest Buffalo is getting a player with real upside.

The Buffalo Bills’ newest NFL Draft pick checks in at 6-foot, 192 pounds with a 4.40 40-yard dash and a 41-inch vertical. The athleticism is legitimate. Fantasy Life analyst Dwain McFarland noted in his prospect write-up that Bell’s closest Super Model comp is ironically Khalil Shakir. Yes, the same receiver Beane drafted back in 2022 and watched develop into a reliable weapon for Allen. Perhaps Beane saw those same traits in Bell and decided lightning could strike twice.

What Skyler Bell Means for the Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been aggressive this offseason on both sides of the ball. Buffalo traded for DJ Moore earlier in the spring, bolstering a receiver room that already features Khalil Shakir. The team also brought back Connor McGovern, one of the most reliable centers in football, and added several defensive pieces to strengthen that group.

Bell slots in as a depth piece for now, but the receiver room could be reshuffled a bit before September. His short-area quickness, yards-after-catch ability, and combine-tested athleticism give him a real chance to carve out a niche in Buffalo’s offense. Pairing those traits with Allen is about as good of a situation as a young wide receiver can land in.

The Bills have made it clear this offseason that they are all-in on winning now. Saturday’s 2026 NFL Draft haul, which also included Clemson pass rusher T.J. Parker and Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun, reflects that mentality. Skyler Bell is the wild card of the group, a player with a non-traditional path and the tools to make Buffalo’s investment look smart down the road.
