Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week just finished its 2026 season, showcasing thousands of gowns that will be seen in bridal salons around the world next year. Between the runways and the accompanying trade show, it can be easy to get lost in the sea of white dresses. However, a number standout styles that made their way across the halls of Fira Monjuïc could help define what wedding fashion will look like in 2027.

Many trends that arose mirrored those seen in the recent New York Bridal Fashion Week, from bold draping to headpieces to asymmetrical details. However, the international market of Barcelona brings in a broader perspective that is also influenced by what weddings look like around the globe. The mix of designers from Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America gave us a sense of the broader wedding styles that translate across cultures.

Ahead, we share the top trends from Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week to keep on your radar for weddings to come. From shapely silhouettes to sparkling embellishments, these looks will be doing the wedding march to your nearby bridal salon soon.

The mermaid dress has officially come back as a silhouette to watch in 2027. However, don’t look to styles of Y2K as inspiration. This new take on the mermaid feels fresh—playing with texture, vintage touches, and tailoring. The trumpet element at the tail of a gown might also be adorned with extra ruffles, appliqués, pleats, or other fun details that emphasize this unexpected shape.

No skirt? No problem. To-be-weds who love a pant can find plenty of options for any of their wedding events. We particularly love the rise of cool suiting looks that go a touch above traditional tailoring with beautiful draping or unique detail, as well as pants that come with a detachable train for a bridal moment.

Brides looking to make a statement can do so with a swish of their skirt. Lots of designers this season have been playing with exaggerated shapes—using caged structures, tulle padding, and even hoop skirts to bring fabric out to another dimension. Not only are the sizes of the skirts being altered, but the use of draping can create even more dynamic movement and intrigue in the design.

Any bride who wants to shine on their wedding day will have plenty of opportunities to do so with the new gowns heading to bridal salons next season. Embellishments were out in full force in Barcelona, with designs on the runways and across the trade shows shimmering with glitter, sequins, pearls, and crystals. Whether you want a full beaded look or a more traditional white dress with a touch of sparkle, it will be easy to find a gown that fits your preferred wattage.

Clean silk mikado or delicate Chantilly lace might be the preferred dress materials of many brides, but those looking for a new take on fabric will be happy to find it in the latest collections coming out of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. Textural designs using natural fibers are on the rise—and the results are stunning pieces that create extra intrigue based on their materials alone. While some might make a statement, others do so subtly and are perfect for the to-be-wed looking for a more eco-friendly approach to bridal fashion.

For those who love a more minimalistic look that still has plenty of style, Barcelona showcased many ensembles that feel clean, chic, and aisle-ready. These gowns might come in heavy crepe or mikado for a cool, crisp look, yet still bring intrigue with elegant details, fun plays on silhouette, and small appliqué accents.
