With just one more tournament to go until the second major of the season, a good chunk of the top players on the PGA Tour head to Quail Hollow for the 2026 Truist Championship.
Quail Hollow is widely considered one of the most challenging regular tests on the PGA Tour circuit, and the Truist (formerly the Wells Fargo) has been deemed a Signature Event, so we’ll be treated to an elite field this week.
With Scottie Scheffler skipping the trip, Rory McIlroy tops the odds at FanDuel Sportsbook as a +600 favorite.
This is McIlroy’s kind of track, and he’s proven that with a pair of wins (2021 and 2024) among a smattering of top-10 finishes over the last decade.
Cam Young, fresh off his second win of the season at the Cadillac Championship, is the second favorite at +950. The Westchester native is on a Scheffler-esque run of form with two wins, four top-3 finishes, and five top-10s in his last six starts.
Xander Schauffele (10/1), Matt Fitzpatrick (15/1), and Ludvig Aberg (16/1) round out the top five on the betting board.
While most of the recent winners at Quail Hollow are household names like McIlroy, Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Jason Day, this course regularly produces a leaderboard littered with long shots.
With that in mind, we’ll pepper a few different parts of the betting board and hope we get someone in contention on Sunday.
It didn’t go our way with Fleetwood last week, but a strong showing on Sunday budged him into the top 25, and we’ll buy into that momentum as the Merseysider heads to a place where he’s had some success.
