Ronda Rousey wasn’t getting paid by the hour Saturday night.

The MMA legend, who returned to the sport for the first time in nearly a decade for what she says was her final fight, made $2.2 million for her duel against Gina Carano at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., according to the California State Athletic Commission.

Rousey, 39, defeated Carano with her signature armbar in just 17 seconds, meaning she made more than $129,411 per second for the right that was streamed on Netflix and put on by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, their first MMA card.

Carano, 44, made $1,050,000 for her first fight in 17 years.

Those payouts represent disclosed salaries. Each fighter may have made more if they received incentives based on the economic performance of the event, which also featured big names like Nate Diaz, Mike Perry and Francis Ngannou.

Rousey said during an in-cage interview after the fight that her goal was for the bout against Carano — whom Rousey called her “f–king hero” — to be over quick.

“I was hoping, yeah. I was hoping to come out like, you know, both as unscathed as possible because I didn’t really want to hurt her,” Rousey said. “Luckily it was just beautiful martial arts. That’s what I think that is, that’s what that efficiency is. It’s an art.”

Carano was an MMA star in the 2000s, as she and Cris Cyborg became the first women to main event a major MMA card with Strikeforce in 2009. Cyborg handed Carano her first loss, and Carano then focused on her acting career.

Rousey, an Olympic bronze medalist in judo, broke out in Strikeforce before it was bought and ultimately shut down by UFC, where Rousey became a household name.

She won her first six UFC fights as the bantamweight champion, five of them coming in the first round. Three of those wins came in 14 seconds, 16 seconds and 34 seconds, respectively.

Rousey lost the title to Holly Holm in 2015 and lost her next fight to Amanda Nunes in 2016. She then went to WWE.
