They just don’t make 7-foot-4 freaks who can put the ball on the floor, knock down shots off the dribble and still get back to erase a layup attempt on the other end. In his first-ever appearance in the NBA Playoffs, the Frenchman is averaging 24.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game with 4.5 combined stocks. He’s also shooting 49.1% overall and 35.2% from deep over his 21 appearances while leading the Spurs’ charge to the Finals.

However, Wembanyama has appeared fallible for the first time during this run. Despite a line of 26 points and 12 boards in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, he shot just 28.6% in that one with six turnovers. He looked better in Game 2 with 29 points and nine boards in a loss, then led the way with 32 points on 61.1% shooting in a Game 3 win. However, that was sandwiched by 24 points and 13 rebounds on an ugly 36.0% FG% in Game 4. The young superstar hasn’t been unbeatable by any means against the Knicks.
