The state visit is the first by an American president in almost nine years. It is being closely watched by the world due to an array of uncertainties and tensions overshadowing the global economy, including the stalemate over the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Israel war on Iran, which is pushing up energy costs and even threatening global food security.
