Hong Kong Luxury Week has become one of the clearest snapshots of how Asia’s affluent live, drink and dress – and this spring’s edition, which coincides with Christie’s 40th anniversary in the region, is designed very much with that spirit of cross-category thinking in mind.

Four live auctions – Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau Part V, Handbags & Accessories, Magnificent Jewels, and Important Watches – will take place from May 22 to 28, with previews in Taipei, Bangkok, Geneva, Shanghai, Macau and Hong Kong underscoring just how international the city’s luxury audience has become.

On May 22, the week opens with Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau Part V, the final chapter in the sale of a cellar that has become shorthand for blue‑chip Burgundy and Bordeaux collecting. The sale centres on 33 lots of Henri Jayer Vosne‑Romanée Cros‑Parantoux spanning 1991 to 2001, alongside Romanée‑Conti and Montrachet from Domaine de la Romanée‑Conti and rare whites from Domaine d’Auvenay.

More than 200 lots of Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton follow in the Handbags & Accessories sale on May 25, foregrounding limited edition Birkins and Kellys that celebrate leather goods as design objects in their own right.

The Important Watches auctions on May 27 and 28 traces a similar logic for horology. Anchored by the Kronos: Titans of Time private collection and two further named consignments, the line‑up spans some of the most coveted names in watchmaking. Pieces on offer include one of the most complex modern Patek Philippes – the platinum Sky Moon Tourbillon ref. 5002P‑001 with 12 complications – and a ruby‑ and diamond-set Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 26334OR.

Together, these sales set the stage for May 26, when Magnificent Jewels brings over 100 lots to the block – natural pearls, Kashmir sapphires, Colombian emeralds, signed pieces by Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels – and one headline‑grabbing strand of green.
