Berlin, July 28, 2026 – PayPal and Amazon today announced that starting in August eligible Amazon customers in Germany and Austria will be able to use PayPal Ratenzahlung on Amazon.de1 and in the Amazon app over the coming weeks, giving shoppers more flexibility to pay over time for eligible purchases. Amazon customers will benefit as PayPal continues to expand its Pay Later footprint and brings its trusted Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution to Amazon.de. This enables the more than 40 million PayPal customers to shop their favorite brands and products on Amazon.de with PayPal Ratenzahlung.

With PayPal Ratenzahlung, customers benefit from a clear way to split purchases between 30€ and 10,000€2 into fixed monthly payments. Terms of 3, 6, 12, and 24 months are available on purchases, and PayPal is offering new terms exclusive to Amazon customers of 36 and 48 months, giving them greater flexibility to manage larger purchases over time.

“As Buy Now, Pay Later has become a popular payment choice for consumers to shop and pay, offering trusted and flexible payment options is more important than ever,” said Carola Wahl, Managing Director Germany, Austria and Switzerland at PayPal. “Bringing PayPal Ratenzahlung to Amazon in Germany and Austria marks an important milestone in expanding our Pay Later offerings through the world’s largest ecommerce retailer, giving even more customers access to the trusted PayPal Pay Later experience they already know.”

“We know that flexibility at checkout matters,” said Rocco Bräuniger, Country Manager Amazon DACH. “With PayPal Ratenzahlung, available in Germany and Austria on Amazon.de from August, customers can decide to pay over time with clear terms and no surprises — all within the seamless Amazon experience they already know and trust.”

Flexible payments with transparent terms

Integrated directly into checkout on Amazon.de, PayPal Ratenzahlung gives customers a simple and transparent way to pay over time. Customers can review pricing and repayment details upfront on Amazon and track upcoming payments, view amounts already paid and manage their installment plans at any time through the PayPal app or online. Standard PayPal Ratenzahlung terms and conditions apply in Germany and Austria3.

Payments are made in monthly installments and automatically debited from the customer’s bank account or debit card. Customers receive email and text reminders ahead of upcoming payments and can manage their plans at any time in the PayPal app or online. They may also make additional repayments or repay their balance in full at any time at no additional cost.

PayPal Ratenzahlung on Amazon.de and on the Amazon-App will be made available to customers over the coming weeks.
