The May 21, 2026 Defense Department instruction "establishes policy and assigns responsibilities for the assignment and reassignment of Service members to a new permanent duty station (PDS)." Also includes a related manual on procedures and requirements as well as a manual on assignments outside the continental United States duty and dependent travel.
