InformationWeek Podcast: Compliance crackdown on AI and BYOD
2026-03-17 · via informationweek

Granting employees the leeway to use AI or personal devices on the job is not a free pass to risk security and data compliance.

The rise of new AI and bring-your-own-device policies increase the risk of corporate IT environments being compromised. Locking out personal technology might not be entirely possible; however, the oversight and management of access is evolving in response.

In this episode of the InformationWeek Podcast, Ameya Kanitkar, CTO of Larridin, discusses finding a balance between governance and the freedom to innovate with Eddie Taliaferro, director of enterprise governance, risk and compliance and data protection officer at NetSPI.

They discussed their guardrails for AI use in the workplace, how their rules on governance and oversight have evolved with personal tech and whether they use monitoring software to alert them to potential trouble.

Our tabletop exercise, Questionable Ideas, returns with a new round of challenges for our panelists to resolve to maintain good governance and compliance as personal technology rises.
