President Donald Trump said his physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday went “perfectly,” but offered no details about what doctors observed.

Trump said he underwent a six-month checkup and “everything checked out PERFECTLY,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Trump, who turns 80 on June 14, has faced heightened scrutiny about his health during his second term as he’s repeatedly been spotted with bruising on his hands and swollen ankles.
Trump’s physician, Sean Barbabella, has attributed the bruising on his hands to “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking” and aspirin “taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen,” he wrote in a letter the White House released last July.
The White House has attributed swelling in Trump’s legs and ankles to chronic venous insufficiency, what Barbabella described in his letter as a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
In March, Trump was photographed with a rash on his neck, which Barbabella said was a result of a preventative skin cream Trump was using, though he did not say what the cream was or what condition it was being used to prevent (Barbabella said after Trump’s physical in April 2025 that he was using mometasone cream).
Trump has also exhibited signs of fatigue on several occasions when he’s appeared to doze off at public events (Trump has said he’s not sleeping, but is closing his eyes for prolonged periods, because “it’s very relaxing,” he told The Wall Street Journal in January).
“President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible President in American history who is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises, and he remains in excellent health,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told The Associated Press on Tuesday before Trump’s physical.
Trump, the oldest person ever elected president, spent more than three hours at Walter Reed for what the White House said was a preventive medical and dental checkup. It’s his fourth checkup of his second term. Presidents routinely give public updates on their health and release reports of medical exams, but there’s no law requiring them to disclose certain information and the reports are often light on details. After Trump’s last exam in October, Barbabella said he is “in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance.” He also said Trump’s cardiac age was about 14 years younger than his chronological age. Trump also underwent a CT scan in October “to definitively rule out any cardiovascular issues,” Barbabella told The Wall Street Journal in January.
