Saigon Testnet is migrating to Ethereum on Thursday! This is an important step in Ronin’s homecoming and evolution to a Layer 2. The hardfork is scheduled for block #45528550 (February 05, 2026, 23:58:55 UTC), at which time the Testnet Chain ID will also update to 202601. The Mainnet Chain ID will stay the same once mainnet migrates to Ethereum.
What this means for users: Everything will continue to work as usual including games, apps, and your Ronin Wallet. No action required.
What this means for builders: If you’re running an RPC node on Saigon Testnet, remember to upgrade before the hardfork. If you plan to run a Saigon RPC node after the migration, read this guide and see more details below.
Ronin’s Saigon Testnet is migrating to Ethereum via Optimism on Thursday! About six months ago, Ronin embarked on a homecoming mission to Ethereum. This week, Saigon Testnet takes an important step on that journey. Here’s what’s happening:
Saigon Testnet is Ronin’s development sandbox for builders. It went LIVE over three years ago, and paved the way for a more open Ronin. Today, Saigon Testnet is moving from Ronin mainnet onto Ethereum. Thank you to our allies at Optimism and Conduit for making this possible!
If you’re a Ronin gamer or user, you’ll find everything will continue to work as usual including games, apps, and your Ronin Wallet. You’ll be able to bridge with Chainlink CCIP, make cross-chain swaps in-app, check your wallet balances, and more. No action required.
There are three things builders need to know about: Downtime, required upgrades, and how to run a Saigon L2 node. Here’s an overview:
• Downtime: If everything goes well, there will be about 8 hours of downtime starting February 05, 2026, 23:58:55 UTC
• Required Upgrades: If you run an RPC node on Saigon Testnet, remember to upgrade before block #45528550. Learn more here.
• How to run a Saigon L2 node: If you plan to do this, prepare your infrastructure to run reth and op-node. Once Saigon stops producing blocks, a downloadable state snapshot will be available. You can then launch your L2 node using the fresh state files and resume Saigon RPC operations.
