“Building on the Mother’s Day Rally for Online Safety and Sen. Cruz’s promise to get KOSA signed into law this year, OpenAI’s endorsement of KOSA shows just how much momentum there now is to get the bill passed. However, the companies that will be directly impacted by KOSA continue to spend millions of dollars on lobbying to evade real accountability for the harm their products are inflicting on our kids.
“OpenAI’s endorsement of the bill also does nothing to change the myriad threats that OpenAI itself poses to children’s health and safety through its dangerous products. The most important voices to listen to right now are not the tech companies that have built their fortunes off of addicting and harming children, but rather the parents and advocates who have kids’ best interests at heart.”
